Volunteer at TPAC
The Topeka Performing Arts Center Volunteer Committee invites you to take your place beside the staff and many other dedicated volunteers who enjoy meeting new people, supporting the cultural scene in Topeka and celebrating the history of this unique facility.
As a volunteer, you are considered one of the family and an important part of making the Topeka Performing Arts Center our community's most celebrated cultural center. You'll be invited to play a key role in the many artistic and educational activities that enrich our community.

Physical Exertions may include:
- Standing for long periods of time (up to 4 hours)
- Bending over to pick items up off the floor
- Going up and down stairs
What Do Theatre Volunteers Do?
- Carry out all Theatre policies
- Scan tickets
- Hand out programs and other printed materials
- Usher patrons to their correct seats
- Implement food and drink policies
- Be alert for any disturbance or emergency and report to staff
- Direct patrons to restrooms and telephones
- Perform a light clean up after the show
- Set examples of good theatre etiquette
- Enjoy the benefits of teamwork
- Take the extra step to provide excellent customer service
- Assist as needed with special events
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn all aspects of your position
- Follow instructions from the House Managers and TPAC Management
- Volunteers are required to fill out the Volunteer Application and will be contacted to participate in an initial training session along with the possibility of other mandatory meetings during the year.
